District, in 1967, created two volunteer fire
services as well as EMS. With the addition of these two
departments, the TFPD has diligently provided the
citizens of the District the highest quality fire
suppression and extinguishment, emergency medical life
support, fire prevention, life safety and rescue
services in a responsible, yet cost effective manner.
Covering 390 square miles of private property, BLM and
Forest Service lands, from the county lines at the top
of Dallas Divide, Lizard Head Pass, Bridal Veil Falls,
and to Specie Creek Road to the west TFPD continues to
meet the growing needs of our citizens. TFPD maintains
strong academic and hands on training for our volunteer
firefighters and EMT's, as well as a comprehensive
public fire prevention educational program.
